How Do Catalog Listings Differ from Auctions?

In the catalog, items are offered at a fixed price. To purchase an item, just put it in your shopping cart and click "Buy Products Now".

With Auctions listings, you find items and place bids. The transaction isn't complete until the auction closes. You might lose to a competing bidder, or you might win the item at a great price.
